Chocolates to Send Before Spring

I’ve written about L.A. Burdick’s chocolate penguins before (and its chocolate mice are pretty well-loved too), so I was happy to see that it now has a new chocolate design for 2009 in the shape of a snowman.

The snowmen are filled with clementine-flavored ganache, have a hazelnut for a head, and are dipped in white chocolate. And they sport a dark chocolate top hat. They come nine to a wooden box, which is sealed with wax and tied with a ribbon.

They’re a good excuse to send someone a treat to cheer winter gloom. People who have been dealing with wicked cold spells may enjoy taking out their frustration by devouring a few little effigies of winter.
