Rustic Tavern
Shot in Kodachrome, December 2010
The gun is a family heirloom of one of our editors; she thinks it's a real Civil War–era piece. Sticking a huge fork in the goose isn't something that we'd do in a modern photograph, but in our research into 1950s and ’60s food photography, we discovered that forks were liberally stabbed into large hunks of meat back then.
