Be My Cupcake Friend

Cupcake Corner: It's one of those Facebook games, like FarmVille or Mafia Wars (but it's made by OMGPOP). And it's really ridiculously cute. You have a retail bakery where you sell cupcakes, caramel apples, cookies, and other sweets. You can decorate the store and invite your friends to work for you (a nice touch) instead of hiring temp workers, and people come in to buy and eat your delicious baked goods with some cheesy soft jazz playing (haven't yet figured out how to customize the music).

But I'll say it straight up: I'm not a game player. I'm also not much for retail work, cleaning up, baking, or making small talk with people I don't know. This goes for the virtual world as well as the real world, since they overlap so much these days.

Yet, while I was bedridden for three days and counting with back pain, Cupcake Corner became a nice little treat. Never mind that I left my baked goods for too long and they spoiled. Never mind that I'm constantly short on cash and don't really have the ambition and drive to make my bakery a true destination for all my Facebook friends. Turns out that baking sweets is rather satisfying after all, virtually. Someday, I just might expand. Anyone want to invest?
