Far West Fungi, a mushroom store in SF’s Ferry Building, was the location of a recent shoot for CHOW Tips. It’s also where I first encountered a heavenly truffle salt made by Casina Rossa. It’s pricey, but not when you compare it to the price of whole truffles, and consider how little you have to use for a lot of flavor. Chowhounds have come up with some great ideas for how to cook with truffle salt.
Casina Rossa Truffle Salt, $24 for 3.5 ounces
You can use it for delectable MAC & Four Cheeses(Asiago,Gruyere,New Zealand Cheddar and Vermont Aged Sharp White)
My only concern is the actual truffle content.
Like Porcini, a little Truffle goes a long way. So maybe my concerns are exagerated.
