Marketers can’t seem to leave water alone. It gets pumped with flavor, charged with energy, and laced with nutrients, but the additives are all too much for me. Still, water gets boring if you have to drink it all day. During a recent lunch at Mixt Greens in San Francisco, I came across Hint water. The pomegranate-tangerine flavor had a touch of citrus and a dash of fruity pomegranate—subtle, like the name implies. It’s now my go-to drink for staying out of a plain-water rut.
Hint Water, $44 for a case of 24 16-ounce bottles
what we have been doing is just buying bottled water and adding about 10 drops of flavoured "Stevia" in it. It not only gives it a sweetness but flavours it (i.e. orange, cherry, wintergreen)...and it's not sugar...it's "gooder" (sic) for you
Some of those flavors look delicious. A few years ago the company that makes SmartWater had a line of fruit waters like this: just water, flavor essence and minerals. For some reason the discontinued them in favor of other kinds of nutritional drinks, and now other companies have basically reinvented their product, which just shows how stupid they were to drop it.
