So says the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a nonprofit that operates much in the mold of the Center for Science in the Public Interest. In this commercial, set to air in DC during the Daily Show on September 16, the PCRM urges, "Tonight, make it vegetarian." Well, I'm certainly not in the mood for a Big Mac after this.

Less than 5% of PCRM's members are physicians, and the AMA has distanced themselves from the organization. While not a "front group," PETA has donated over 1 million dollars and the majority of their funding comes from the Animal Rights Foundation.
PCRM is actually an association of physicians--not a front group for PETA or anyone else. They use actual science and cite actual studies. They're one of the very few organizations of medical professionals who publicly recognize that diet has a huge impact on health.
