How to Navigate an Unfamiliar Wine List
Gillian Ballance, wine director of
FARM at the Carneros Inn, thinks safe choices when ordering wine are New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs and Argentinean Malbecs.

Oh, how fun to see Farm featured here. We go there all the time.
I agree that NZ SBs are quite vibrant and usually a great value.
Recently we have found Argentine SBs to be gaining in quality and some great expressions.
well that said nearly nothing... was this a NZ wine PR vid? What should be here is more like "How to select and write a good wine list" for clueless restauranteurs.
Gillian -- thanks for supporting New Zealand wines - especially appreciate your efforts to share the wines from the artisan producers in New Zealand.
The New Zealand story is a rich mosaic of small family wineries that often get lost in the big picture.
