You can also open a bottle of wine with a shoe. Put the base of the wine bottle in the shoe, and hit the heel against a wall/floor/tree/car door. Tends to work best with a dress shoe, as a running shoe will absorb too much of the energy.
this man has superhuman strength.
Certainly very practical trick.
I was stuck in the mountains in Lebanon w/ a bottle of wine and no opener. I found an old jump rope with wooden handles, unscrewed one of the handles, place the end on top of the cork and hammered the cork in with a shoe :)

wanna open your bottle of wine without a corkscrew? no problem, if you don't mind stir it a little! wrap up the bottle in a towel or tshirt and slightly kick the bottom of the bottle against a solid wall or door case. the cork will come out little by little... enjoy!
Try and top my best on the spot bottle opener.......a quarter.
I am very much enjoying these "how to open a bottle of beer with a..." series. Always puts a smile on my face. Am fully expecting the next one to be "how to open a bottle of beer with a marshmallow...". :-).
Awesome tip
This did not work for me -- just shredded the paper.

i just proved that you can NOT open a bottle with a bicycle lock key... or at least, i can't! i about pried off my index finger trying. :)
i've actually seen this trick some time ago on another website - you can open beer bottles with pretty much anything hard - lighters, keys, etc - even another beer bottle
