  • I weigh out my cookie dough, to a weight which varies according to recipe and preference, something around 60g or 2oz, then form each portion into a ball for perfectly shaped cookies. It's the only way to do it accurately!

  • Does it matter which one you use...an ice cream scoop or cookie scoop? I just do the preportioned cookie dough in the package LOL.

  • I used to think that having a scoop for cookies was a waste of money and kitchen space, until I got one. The cookie scoop I have is a little smaller than the ice cream scoop in the video and all you have to do is to dip into the dough, scrape it on the lip of the bowl to even out and then plop on the sheet pan.   • I agree with the premise, but the ice cream scoop being used in the video doesn't appear to provide a precise measure of dough.

  • Target sells an all metal cookie scoop. Looks like an ice cream scoop but smaller. And it doesn't cost as much as if you were to get it at a specialty cook store.

  • Agreed. I find that a tablespoon works for me.

  • uhh, doesn't the choice of portioning instrument have something to do with the size of cookies? I find a teaspoon just right.
