Wii Night!
One-handed, energy-charged bites for a marathon session
Gaming is no longer a solitary, anaerobic activity. You need stamina to stand up to the competition, whether you’re breaking a sweat over Wii Tennis or Battle of the Bands. This menu is loaded with food that’ll keep you energized, caffeinated, and maybe even a bit tipsy. And it’s tasty, ensuring that all the players have a good time—even if they don’t end up a Wii-nner.

STICKY FINGERS
Eating and gaming don’t always mix well. Keep your remote and console spotless with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

I didn't know people used play video games without oxygen.
These recipes look amazing, especially the skewers, mongolian beef and quesadillas. Wii is a very social system unlike other gaming consoles, so I don't see what the big deal is here about mentioning this one instead of others. I'd hate to get in a juvenile console war here as I have many game systems, but honestly the social aspect of the Wii can't be beat in comparison to alternatives. No one...+READ

I'd hate to get in a juvenile console war here as I have many game systems, but honestly the social aspect of the Wii can't be beat in comparison to alternatives. No one wants to stand around watching 1 or 2 people with their eyes and attention locked into an FPS. With Wii, everyone is involved, the action can be brief, entry level is low, and socializing can remain central to the occasion.-COLLAPSE
I'm planning a rock band party myself (Xbox 360) and was inspired by some of these ideas. Of course now it is winter and I'll be doing different things like baby hamburgers and such. I'm curious about what different offerings y'all might suggest for a rock band party. Perhaps also a bowl of green M&M's to be cheeky? Here's what I've got so far...

The Wii is the only console that has you jumping around and waving things in the air (sure, there's Dance, Dance Revolution on other consoles, but the Wii inspires activity across the board). That's their point: High energy, fun food for a party activity that's actually active.
Plus, unsanitary? That's their other point - it's food you can hold in one hand while the other hand (the clean one)...+READ

Lighten up, people, and think before you post.-COLLAPSE
It's just a bit of fun. As the tagline states...CHOW: Food. Drink. Fun.
It is good to see that people can eat and game at the same time. Did you read about that guy that starved to death while playing some kind of online game? It was really scary (and true!)
First time poster. Short time browser.
I don't know how long I'll be around here if articles suggesting the gobbling of greasy finger foods while fondling a once sanitary video game controller are the norm.
It's one thing to enjoy your eats, but jamming food into every moment of the day especially those inopportune moments (Foods to Eat On The Subway, Snacks to Port Into Your Favorite...+READ

The only reference to the Wii that I see is the controller in the picture. I don't see the big deal. That being said, I don't see why the article couldn't have been more...general. Is that the word I want to use? There was no need to mention a particular game system.
Wii snacks? How bout "Pong Snacks" for all those high class bro-downs featuring Beer Pong throwdowns?
But...they do need to pay the bills...so we can enjoy this wonderful site!
Oops sorry, make that Wii ad to the right of it, and it is a french ad so maybe you don't have the ad next to it in the States.
Perhaps Monkey's aversion is not to the idea of recipes for a gaming night but to the fact Wii is so obviously featured. As I am looking at the recipe I see a Wii ad just to the left of it. I fully understand and appreciate that Chow needs to pay the bills, but could they not have had a recipes link in the Wii ad instead of featuring it as a Chow recipe/or perhaps called it Gaming Night so it...+READ

Indeed! Super bowl and hallmark holidays abound; why ever not include other reasons for food and friends?
Chinkymonkey -- I'm curious why you don't think this feature should be on CHOW?
This is hilarious and I think these recipes would be good for a cocktail party or Wii night. I never go to cocktail parties, but half the people I know have a Wii and get together to drink, talk, and game...
This shouldn't be on Chow. Period.
