How to Get Wine to a Proper Temperature
If your wine isn’t
too warm, it’s probably too cold.

I recently bought a wine fridge (a bit like this http://www.winecaves.co.uk/products/wine-essentials-cellar.html ) and it makes the whole process so much easier. The wine tastes better too.
My rule of thumb is -- for white wines, chill in fridge and remove from fridge 1/2 hour before serving; for reds, put bottle into fridge 1/2 hour before serving.
