  • I think the lid on the blender plus a kitchen towel on top is a bit more practical. Can't afford to burn the 1 hp motor on my VitaMix by running it dry even for 10 seconds.

  • Um, yeah, I've been thinking about this lately. I even have that blender (the delightful Waring pro) which only has two speeds, and, yep, I tend to make things blow up all over the kitchen. I'm an idiot, basically.
