A threshold of badness... that would make it... not bad. What is the price range of these wines, if they even have a price tag, are we looking at the finest wines India has to offer, or a selection of inexpensive wines scheduled for export? Are you comparing them to the finest California and French reds, or just similarly selected varietals? I am a Sommelier Society Cert Holder, and I'm not quite sure your aspirations are fair, I certainly would've liked to understand their viniculture, processes and cooperage better before poking them with a stick. You've been given a great opportunity to taste these wines, and I feel your analysis is fairly shallow. This is a fine venue for Spurrier-esque magnitude mistakes.-COLLAPSE

  • Very helpful and good to know. I'm a member of a local bookclub and one of my fellow members is from India. She plans to serve an Indian meal when it is her time to host bookclub. I'd love to bring an Indian bottle of wine to the meeting. Your review was a good place for me to start.
