Father’s Day Breakfast

Father’s Day Breakfast

Wake Dad on the right side of the bed

Father’s Day is an easy one, right? One card plus one tie equals instant Dad appreciation. Not so fast! This year, it’s the Brazilian-style French toast, not the greeting card, that’s sugarcoated; gifts come wrapped in prosciutto. (We’re talking scrambled eggs, not neckwear.) At Dad’s first waking moment, be ready with fresh watermelon juice. Round things out with sweet marinated mango.

  • Made it with challah as that's what my DH thinks you have to do. He liked it better plain than with the cinimon/cocoa/sugar mixture. That's surprising as he usually puts cinnamon sugar on his french toast, but only a dusting, not a dredging. Also, pan fried not deep fried as we did not have that much oil.

  • Steak and eggs baby... steak and eggs

  • The kid is super cute, as is the pic. Would I let my grandsons do this? NO WAY!

  • He's doing fine. He just needs to improve his knife skills - index finger choked back to the neck of the blade and maybe a taller stool to stand on.

  • Knives are sharp, fire is hot, people can be untrustworthy, and loved ones will die: these are all lessons that kids need to learn eventually.

  • I agree with Azizeh -- I really can't get past it. It's actually making me really nervous.

  • I can't get around the kid with the giant knife.

Is that a safety knife or is he a daredevil?

  • Mentioned this in my 'Give the guy who pays the bills' Father's Day story on Serge the Concierge.
