The California Dungeness crab season opens in mid-November or early December, and 80 percent of the catch is taken in the first two weeks. CHOW went fishing on the Barbara Faye at the end of the season. Its home port is Pillar Point Harbor, just north of Half Moon Bay, California, about 25 miles south of San Francisco.

What a fantastic story - brilliant photojournalism. Very interesting to learn what modern day fishing involves, for instance, that nautical charts are no longer used, and they have to measure each crab with a ruler... Too bad there weren't more crabs caught!
