Is It OK to Use the Handicapped Restroom?

Is it legal to use the handicapped restroom or stall if the regular one is taken? And even if it’s legal, is it polite?

Although the blue-signed handicapped parking spaces are legally restricted, there are no laws about who is allowed to use a restroom or stall designated for the handicapped, says Thomas Schmokel, a consultant who helps businesses comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If there are disabled people around, it’s impolite to use the handicapped restroom or stall ahead of them, but if not, you can use whichever one you want. “If you like more room or need a place to hang your newspaper, it’s fine,” Schmokel says.

  • it is not illegal but it is not polite. You should only use the handicapped stall if you are desperate and there is not anything else available. If someone who is disabled comes along they really do have no other choice so I see no excuse for someone healthy using the HC stall and there should be tickets/fines for going in there when other places are open.

Why is that you might ask. Because everyone uses that stall first leaving all of the other stalls open. Come on now guys,...+READ

You do not need to lock a door to urinate. Give up your false sense of morality. Before we had indoor plumbing or out houses for that matter. Everyone went outside. No doors, locks, walls, or ceilings. Who wants to watch someone deficate or urinate? Don't be so paranoid.-COLLAPSE

I takes two hands to lift yourself over the seat and another one or two hands to keep the paper in position. You will either end up with the paper half in the toilet and half over the outside of the seat and usually all torn up. Who...+READ
