Inspired by a Vietnamese dish (which, if you are in San Francisco, Quan Bac makes a good version of), the fish chaca la vong sandwich had big chunks of fish that looked like they were yellow with turmeric, soft onion "jam," Sriracha mayo, and a lot of fresh dill and cilantro packed into a roll. It was incredibly messy with a good ratio of filling to bread. All it needed was an extra squirt of Sriracha. Unfortunately we did not get around to trying the "1000 year old" ice cream sandwich, which oozes black caramel out of the center. Despite the slick, franchise-y feeling of the shop, the sandwich was great.
