Chicken Farming = Terrible Career: In the second in a series of grievance-airing meetings for farmers, poultry producers met in Ankeny, Iowa, to discuss price fixing and unfair wages in their industry with Attorney General Eric Holder. The problems stem from the fact that the poultry industry is almost totally vertically integrated, with giant companies controlling everything, contracting out the actual raising of the chickens to small farmers who are squeezed on prices. It’s Not Candy if It Has Flour: Washington state tried to come up with a legal definition of candy, in preparation for a candy tax. It was decided that candy is a sweet that does not contain flour. Unsurprisingly, this lets a lot of "candy" slip by. via Salon.com
