Not Just for Goths

I went to a wedding recently where the bride’s colors were black and red. For cocktails, they had a vodka-cran made with a black vodka called Blavod. I’d normally be way skeptical of a weird-looking product like this inky spirit. But it was pleasantly tasteless, same as normal vodka, and made a very eye-catching drink. It’s a good novelty product, as Chowhounds have discovered. I would consider serving it at my next party, just to be different.

Blavod Vodka, $26.99

  • I had a bottle of this about 7-8 years ago. It was okay, but a novelty. It pretty much relies on your drink being layered, as the only thing that happens if you don't is that you get an odd colored drink (screwdrivers turn bright green).

Its not really black etiher, its more of a very very very very very very very dark green. Slight hint of licorice iirc.
