Open water and sugar cravings get the creative juices flowing. The makers of Kayak Cookies say that a trip off the coast of Maine inspired their oatmeal cookies, made with organic oats and flour. They’re enormous, and saltier than you’d think, but—like with fleur de sel caramels—that’s a good thing. Kayak’s cookies are so good we couldn’t pick a favorite; luckily, there’s a mixed bag.

My two favorite salty oat cookies can be found in the washington, DC area - more or less. the first is at teaism. their salty oat cookies are amazing! you can get regular or chocolate. I also really enjoy the salty oat cookies from the Inn at Little Washington. they have a little shop next to the pricy restaurant that sells them. they are very buttery, but oh so delicious.
This reminds me of my favorite oatmeal cookie recipe ever, Anarchist Oatmeal Cookies! They're amazingly crispy and perfectly salty - I still remember feeling like they were a revelation the first time I made them (and the second time, which was the next day).
