Your Dog Eats Better on Thanksgiving than You

This one made us laugh. Wag Hotels, a posh boarding kennel that bills itself as a pet "resort" in Northern California, is offering a full Thanksgiving dinner for dogs staying there for the holiday. The meal, created by pet food company VibraPet, includes:

• Hand-Pulled Boneless Skinless Turkey With A Light Turkey Glaze
• Honeyed Yams
• Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
• Steamed Green Beans
• Pumpkin Pie Puppy Pudding

"People don't want to feel guilty that they're having a fabulous meal and their dog is not!" says Kristen Green, publicist for Wag. The actual dog Thanksgiving meal is pictured above. The sprig of rosemary is a nice touch.

  • Oh, come on y'all, I totally agree that pets deserve a nice holiday meal.

My cats never usually get tuna (for health reasons), but on Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. I get them a couple of cans of really expensive tuna cat food (Weruva Mediterranean Feast). Nothing wrong with pampering one's pet a few days a year.

Not only does it make me feel better, it also keeps them away from the table where guests are enjoying their food, begging free.-COLLAPSE

  • I thought you were going to tell us that dry kibble is way more healthy and all the fatty stuff we eat over the holidays. Isn't turkey bad for dogs??

  • Is anyone keeping track of stuff like this so we an illustrate WHY the poor people of this world want to kill us the next time they do?

  • Oh.

I thought this was gonna be about people who don't use the turkey giblets and just feed them to the dog.

  • My dog very well as all my family dropped him a few snacks periodically throughout the day.. and he never left his momma's side!

  • Wow, talk about anthropomorphism. Doggie needs to have the same meal as the owner or the owner will feel guilty?

I think this is the same dog hotel that will only accept dogs that have behavior patterns that are acceptable to humans of the nicey-nice type.

  • That's pretty nice. But the people who spend $10,000 on Thanksgiving dinner may eat just a tad better than these doggies http://www.letitflow.com/most-expensive-thanksgiving-dinner/

Or perhaps not :-) Happy Thanksgiving!
