Supermarket Sandwich

London, England

Today I scour the budget bin at a supermarket called Sainsbury’s and buy several cheddar-and-chutney sandwiches marked down to about $1.50. This is soul- and stomach-saddening, and I’d rather not dwell on it. But the situation is, our team has just learned we’ll have to pour more than $400 into our car to make it purr in time for tomorrow’s rally start. Who knew radiators were so important?

  • i live in england it's not just about London i agree though..........

  • I love london sandwiches, they have best combos
I was so sad to leave London, I miss the sandwiches

    Watercress and cream cheese
    Sliced egg, tomato and bacon
    Prawn and Mayo
    Curried chicken

    hmmm I'm hungry now

  • I survived on Sainsbury sandwiches for lunch while staying in London on vacation. I was on a tight budget and it seemed healthier and more affordable than greasy takeaway. Left me with money to treat myself to nice Indian and British food at night.

  • How sad is it that those little packaged sandwiches in London make me so damned happy?
