SF Bar Is Pairing Girl Scout Cookies with Booze

A bar in San Francisco has found some wholesome inspiration for its new cocktail pairings: Girl Scout Cookies. At The Alembic Bar in the city’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, General Manager Greg Quinn developed a cocktail pairing menu for classic Girl Scout Cookies like Thin Mints, Samoas, and Do-si-dos.

It works this way: You order the cookie of your choosing (two per order), paired with a cocktail Quinn designed to enhance its flavors. For instance, Samoas (flavor profile: caramel and coconut) come with a cocktail of Santa Teresa Solera rum and Cocchi Americano Rouge. With Do-si-dos (oatmeal and peanut butter sandwich cookies), you get Campeón blanco tequila shaken with orgeat, crème de cacao, and Aztec bitters. (If you want more cookies, they’re 50 cents each.)

I have to say, when I read about this I figured it was a gimmick to get guests in the door, but the pairings were shockingly good.

The Alembic’s Girl Scout Cookie menu is of limited duration (basically, until the 25 boxes Quinn bought for the bar are all gone). After that, you’ll be stuck eating that stack of Thin Mints with milk again.
