Raves for San Francisco’s Sons & Daughters

Sons & Daughters in San Francisco's Nob Hill neighborhood has impeccable and inventive food, and the accommodating staff make this meal an experience you'll want to linger over for hours.

The waitstaff were attentive to food restrictions, escargot3 says, and also let their party chat for hours with no pressure to flip the table to the next guests.

Chow-wise, Akaushi beef (Kobe-style meat from a Japanese strain of cow) was "indescribably delicious," even to someone who doesn't eat beef much. The tasting menu included briny Monterey sea grapes, sweet woodruff meringue, and Sacramento sturgeon with smoked green garlic.

Of special note is the bread service (which Michael Bauer particularly liked, as noted in his recent positive review): The restaurant serves small portions of three exquisite breads or rolls, allowing diners to sample without filling up too quickly.
