A couple in the East Bay were on the hunt for the perfect wedding favor: small, locally made treats that could be individually packaged. They put a call out on Chowhound to find out whose sweets are the best.
Mari pointed to two favorites from her own wedding, both with roots in San Francisco's nonprofit kitchen incubator La Cocina: Sabores del Sur's magnificent alfajores, and Clairesquares' chocolate and caramel confections.
On the toffee front, gnomatic noted that the chocolate-almond flavor from SF-based Toffee Talk is seriously addictive.
Finally, the couple narrowed it down to two local chocolate contenders, Poco Dolce (pictured) and TCHO. After a tasting with friends and coworkers, it was unanimous: Poco Dolce.
