Early Report: Cantonese Comeback at NY Chinatown’s 85

Last spring, Chinatown Chowhounds mourned the loss of Yogee, a homey Cantonese joint best known for deeply flavorful stewed beef, showcased in noodle dishes and rice plates. Happily, the place reopened late last year with its old crew and a new name: 85 Chinese Restaurant. Chandavkl, who sampled 85's beef stew cheung fun (steamed rice noodle roll), found it just as good as Yogee's. He also recommends seafood rolls and great, crisp fried fish skin, which is something like seagoing pork rinds. "I'm happy that they're back," he says.
