Unless you live nearby or attend prayer service at the King Fahad Mosque in Culver City, chances are you’ve never visited Zam Zam Market. Until recently, this Pakistani and Indian grocery and café kept very limited hours based on the mosque’s prayer schedule. But according to LA hound Discokill, the market is now open for regular business hours seven days a week and has expanded the menu. The news made other hounds ecstatic. BrewNChow thinks Zam Zam cooks the “best biryani I’ve ever had,” and that the green chutney is “out of this world.” Other favorites include chicken tikka and the heavenly naan. The food can be quite hot, especially in dishes with whole spice pods that lurk like little land mines. But, says BrewNChow, “if you live in LA and never try this place, you're a fool."
