It may seem a tad warm these days for stew, but weather alone can't squelch a serious craving. In a recent discussion, LA hounds threw out suggestions on where to go for a great batch of beef stew.
Servorg suggests Finn McCool's Irish Pub in Santa Monica, which "serves an Irish beef stew made with Guinness and root vegetables including parsnips and rutabagas." For a different and "very interesting" take on the dish, Servorg suggests Warszawa Restaurant and Polish Cuisine for the bigos (hunter's stew) made with Polish sausage.
wienermobile thinks Pann's (pictured) is the place. Old-fashioned beef stew with carrots, potatoes, celery, and onion is the Wednesday special. ipsedixit has a "soft spot for the beef stew at Philippe[']s," while Jwsel thinks the version at the Gelson's food bar is perfect in a pinch.
