Praise for reliable neighborhood restaurants can get lost in the buzz on what's new, but in a recent discussion on Chowhound, vulber pointed to Russian Hill's Frascati as an established place worthy of a second look. A meal of potato gnocchi, watermelon salad, and tagliatelle with mushrooms and corn might seem unremarkable, but it had unexpected flourishes, like the salad's toasted pistachios, mint, ricotta, and balsamic glaze. Plus, vulber says, the price was a bargain.
MikeW says visits to Frascati have never resulted in a bad meal or revealed an off night. "Interesting wine list, good food, and reasonably priced," MikeW concludes.
