Overheard on the Los Angeles Board

"The recently opened first branch of Vegas Seafood Buffet fills a couple of niches. First of all it fills the void in the Chinese-Brazilian-Japanese buffet category. Secondly it's the only place in L.A. I can think of where you can walk in and have the feeling you've been whisked away to a second-tier buffet dining area on the Las Vegas strip." – Chandavkl on Vegas Seafood Buffet in Glendale

"Escolar is delicious. It really is. But people deserve to know what they are eating. It really shocks me because I can't imagine restaurants want their customers shooting hot orange butt-oil all over their establishment, but when you lie to people about what they're eating in the hopes of selling more of it, you really do deserve to have your restaurant covered in poo-goo." – BrewNChow on the fact that some sushi restaurants sell escolar as "white tuna" or other such misleading names (perhaps because consuming escolar can cause "explosive, oily, orange diarrhea," as The Kitchn explains)

"I have been frequenting Dripp for quite a while now and I have to say that it has gotten a lot better since the opening. In the beginning, they made a huge error in that they did not use hot enough water for the end result, the coffee, to be served hot. After weeks of trial and error, the coffee is now hot and I think that they serve the best coffee in the area." – A5 KOBE on Dripp in Chino Hills
