November is well under way, and while many Boston hounds are ordering turkeys and perfecting stuffing recipes, others are seeking out a local source for a takeout Thanksgiving feast. Chris VR wrote up a fantastic and exhaustive list of options last year, but some new recommendations have emerged.
Blumie suggests heading west of the city. "I'd try Verrill Farm in Concord; Russo's in Watertown; or Wilson Farm in Lexington (probably in that order)," Blumie says. "At least in the case of Wilson Farm, you can go in any day and buy their turkey, potato and stuffing plate right out of the case and sample what you're going to get."
Berheenia likes Formaggio Kitchen in Cambridge, where you can pick up everything but the bird. Elsewhere in Cambridge, phipsi102 has had a good experience with Savenor's Market.
Larger grocery stores get mixed reviews from Boston hounds. While some like Whole Foods, three of us found the side dishes "bland and smallish," and instead suggested Roche Bros.
