Overheard on the San Francisco Bay Area Board

"Daughter came out at Ashby BART to meet me today at Berkeley Bowl and saw in Flea Market (not Farmers' Market) a guy with a stand selling bbq and Cajun/Creole. For $5 she got a nice serving of vegetarian red beans and rice and a hunk of cornbread. She didn't note all the offerings but said several African-American ladies were waxing poetic about the gumbo." – rccola

"The return of good Vietnamese to the Mission/Bernal/Noe! I can't wait to stop by for a crepe and chicken salad." – Windy on the reopening of Lotus Garden

"Interesting development that Baumé got the second star before Chez TJ. Chef [Bruno] Chemel left Chez TJ when the owner wrote him off for getting the second star. Maybe that's what drove Chemel." – ckshen on news of the 2012 Michelin star recipients
