The weather is cooling off, and heartier fare is in order. CHOW.com Contributing Editor Alex Van Buren was happy to discover Korzo Haus, a Slovakian restaurant in the East Village, through a recommendation from a fellow Chowhound. At Korzo Haus, they're deep-frying burgers and halusky, a traditional Eastern European dish, with delicious results.

  • Korzo Haus rules! The burgers are so freaking delicious, and the house beer is very refreshing. Also, the staff is super friendly. I used to work in that neighborhood and would get a hankering for the halusky. Now I've been reminded that I must return!
