Tay suggests calling Dominick’s and Royal Crown, and gives a spontaneous shout-out to Mother Mousse for cakes. italianices chimes in with a solid lead at Pasticceria Bruno in West Brighton. • The best is Luigi's Dolceria on Hylan Blvd, an outpost of the old brooklyn mainstay Alba, which has ties to now Villabate

  • Here's a clue Mr. Van Buren, the word is cannolo, unless you're having more than one. And never write cannolis, cannoli is already plural.

  • Likely the best is at La Dolce at 655 Rossville Avenue on the South Shore, very convenient for drivers not doing the Hylan Boulevard schlep. And remember that Paticceria Bruno has a nice cafe location on the Boulevard for meals as well.
