A few intriguing events coming in over the Chowhound wire:
El Buen Comer, a product of La Cocina's entrepreneur program, now serves Mexico City–style comfort food on Sundays at Heart; the pop-up menu shows off Chef Isabel Caudillo's take on albondigas, coditos con crema (think Mexican mac 'n' cheese), and tacos.
On June 26, Sutton Cellars holds its annual chili cookoff in Golden Gate Park, featuring renditions from eight or so restaurants; right now the list includes 15 Romolo and Serpentine. For tickets or information, contact winevine@sonic.net.
Finally, on July 10, the first annual ("first annual" always sounds so funny and hopeful, no?) Summer Celebration hits the Ferry Building from 6 to 9 p.m., with a Ryan Farr–manned whole beast carving station as well as sips and bites from more than 60 local purveyors. Tickets are $95 and benefit CUESA, the nonprofit that operates the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

Nope, just some things we heard about that sounded interesting to us, and wanted to pass along. Certainly we'd love to hear positive or negative feedback on any of the events.
Sorry, I can't seem to find reference to these on the Chowhound site, presumably the wire to which you refer. The one post about El Buen Comer, http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/730468#5874085, says "meh". Have you tried the food to recommend this?
