"I've been going to this place called Thanh Lan in San Jose on the corner of Lucretia & Story Rds. for a little over a year & they consistently serve the best mi bo kho (Vietnamese beef noodle stew) around. The reason I'm even more surprised by this is because they are a small general store/restaurant & sandwich shop too." – winodano
"For a straight-up, old-school sandwich, I have not seen any better than Freddie's Sandwiches. It's tucked away in a pretty obscure location, and it's not like it will draw foodies out of the woodwork nor have an Ike's-like draw for the hipsters. It's just good, honest sandwiches served up to the neighborhood." – BernalKC
"Very happy to report Tajine is back on Polk Street, near the corner of Clay, with the same great menu and crew (plus a couple of charming young sons). The eggplant salad and kabobs were as good as ever, and prices seemed the same ($7 sandwiches, $5 salads, kabob plates and tajines for $9-13)." – Windy
