Overheard on the Home Cooking Board

"Get out your Bundt pan. Chop up some potatoes and onions for the bottom. Season your chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika. Shove that chicken onto the Bundt pan's middle. Roast it at 450 for 20 minutes, then 350 for 90 minutes. Check to make sure it's done with a thermometer. Best chicken ever." - tzurriz

"The day before I have people over for brunch, I take some asparagus and submerge it in the brine from good pickles. Let it soak for 24 hours and then use the spears as garnishes for Bloody Marys." - southernitalian

"Another way to preserve [feta cheese] for later use is to cut it into about 1/2-inch cubes and put it in a jar with olive oil, your favorite dried herbs, dried red chile and/or a little lemon zest. The feta gets all the herb-y, olive-y flavor and the olive oil gets some of the tang of the feta. Great on hot pasta tossed with baby spinach and pine nuts." - ninrn
