"Frybread is what you get when you drive people off their native lands where they subsisted on what nature provided, crowd them into reservations, and then supply them with 'staple foods': flour, sugar, salt, lard, honey, baking powder, powdered milk, and dried beans. To some of those people, it has become a sacred tradition; a food to be eaten until the earth is once again purified; a reminder of their long exile and the days of their captivity. To others, it's just a food to be shared on social occasions, or sustenance to be consumed in the breaks between long sessions of singing and drumming in the pow-wow circle. And now I'm getting hungry just thinking about it." – GlenBlank
"For the SFV to have price wars on sangak is like Angelenos being jaded by the plentiful good weather and abundance of celebs. You certainly are fortunate to be in that situation!" - bulavinaka
"Just learned of a 'secret' Sri Lankan place disguised as a Mexican/sub restaurant, go figure. Apparently the owner is from Sri Lanka and supposedly makes great, authentic food from his homeland where he was a chef. The place is called Baja Sub and is on Reseda just north of Parthenia on the west side of the street." - HNL
