"While I use nothing but fresh veggies or flash-frozen ones my parents still have what amounts to a bomb shelter of a pantry of canned veggies. While I don’t care what they eat from day to day, this has led them to believe that all fresh vegetables should be cooked until they are a lifeless, mushy glob or crap unfit for a prison food line...asparagus boiled to a dull green, green beans that I can probably throw against the wall and have them stick...spinach that is so lifeless it looks like chewed bubble gum." – River19

"Today while in Walmart, I was in the snack food aisle and saw Wasabi popcorn by Popcorn, Indiana. I was intrigued. Their usual flavor is Kettle Corn, nicely salted but still too sweet for me. Now spicy is another matter. So I picked up a bag. There was also a Buffalo Cheddar, so that went into the cart as well. I liked both of these! To me, honest flavor and good heat kick." – Quine

"It doesn't necessarily work out though—I know the chef at a local place and once asked him to just make me whatever he felt like off his regular menu. He was so flustered by the request that my meal was not only late (close to an hour behind everyone else's), it was rather 'off' because of his panic." – wattacetti on letting the chef choose your food
