At Mama’s Empanadas, save room for dessert: “the sweet ones are no joke,” bigjeff promises. The one with fig, caramel, and cheese is “so goddamn good and a steal at around $1.50,” he says; it even “rivals the finest desserts in any fancy restaurant.”

  • I tried these empanadas in NYC, and then I moved to Miami beach. I couldn't find any decent empanada around here; then I went to Halfmoon Empanadas. They are frozen!! Terrrrible empanadas!! Then I found these guys that make handmade and fresh empanadas, they don't have a website but you just call them up at 646 423 0583.. pretty fast too. hope it helps if you came to Miami.
