Overheard on the Boston Board

"My heart is however with Hot Dog Annies in Leicester, MA. When I was a pup, dogs were 12 for a $1. Really. They have a unique bbq sauce with sweet onion and the kiss of kitchen bouquet. I can still disappear six diminutive Kayem 'skinnies' on toasted split top rolls with the sauce or the works in a blink. On a summer night a great long conga line of tube steak lovers line up outside the tiny diner and files thru. Still a good value at a buck forty a throw." – EATTV

"There this weekend. The steamed littlenecks were excellent, as was the monkfish, the fried clams and the baked cod. Forget about the grilled sardines. No visible grill marks or taste, and about 80% skin and bones (well, they are sardines so I should have known). Desserts were very good—chocolate pudding, cookies and milk." – emilief on Island Creek Oyster Bar

"My favorites are at Great Taste. They have a nice curried beef or curried chicken bun, or the more traditional pork buns. All are quite tasty, with a nice crunchy and flaky crust and good curry flavor inside." – mwk on a good place to get Chinese buns
