"Radius is a locavore-defined spot. Blackboard specials, Della Fattoria breads, blah blah blah," says Windy. "None of this would have interested me if lunch hadn't been so damned good." There's a huge fried chicken sandwich at lunch for $13. It's a good deal compared to the considerably more expensive dinner, and comes with a good side salad; egg salad looks amazing. There are also local oysters, local cheeses and juices, and happy-hour discounts.

So, I wanted to LOVE Radius, I really did. Unfortunately I only loved the concept and kind of liked the food. Everything was so so except for the oysters which were lovely.

Gnocchi with mushrooms and corn in mushroom broth was pretty bland and only the mushrooms had any flavor which defeats half the purpose of eating seasonally and locally.
Pork two ways was almost there and I was totally rooting for it. The pork belly was melt in your mouth yummy but the loin and accompaniments were forgettable and left me feeling as though something was missing.
My dining companion and I nearly never skip dessert or even usually share an entree, but after having to blatantly salt our small plate we decided take things slowly. When the pork didn't live up to our hopes for this place, we decided to end things there. We had a couple of glasses of wine and stayed and chatted.
Service was very friendly and casual, and we were seated quickly on a Friday night. I haven't written Radius off, but I'll give it time to grow up and perfect itself.
