A Great New York Slice in San Jose?

Rosie’s New York Pizza is constantly mobbed; it can take an hour to get a pizza. Why? “Probably because it’s a really really good pie, the likes of which have not been seen in these provincial parts,” says Ken Hoffman. The dough—hand-tossed and everything—makes a nearly perfect crust: sturdy, supple, awesome. The toppings are generous, fresh, and well proportioned. The pizza is also gigantic—“big enough to feed your hyper family driven mad by the wait,” says Ken. Rosie’s sells by the slice, too.

It’s been open only a couple of weeks, and already half the neon sign is burnt out. Just like New York.

This place is the absolute worst place to go for anything other than for a restroom if you are passing by. Went here with my wife, mother-in law and her boyfriend. We waited for about 45 minutes and still no pizza. In this time we saw 2 other tables go and get their money back and walk out the door. 5 Minutes later an employee came by and asked are you still waiting for your pizza? We said yes. He said my that's a long time because I went to Willow Glen and back for a delivery and you still dont have your pizza. Uh, No Kidding! My wife then went up to ask where our pizza was and the so very intelligent employee responded by saying, "I am just the cashier, it's probably still in the oven". After waiting 1 hour and 2 minutes we saw a guy we were told was the owner. My wife stopped him and said, "We have been here for over and hour and still don't have our pizza". He replied, "Yes, that's normal" My wife said "This is ridiculous". He then said, "Would you like a refund". So my wife went up to the register to get a refund assisted by the owner and never got an apology as he handed her the money. My wife actully told him "Thanks for nothing" as he handed over the $36 and he actually replied with "Your Welcome". I am beyond words. This is the worst pizza joint I have ever stepped foot in and I can bet you this will be the last at this garbage can. If you expect fast and prompt service then this is definitely not the place. There were many frustrated customers who were going to the register to inquire about their orders that were all in the 45 minute range if not longer. As a matter of fact, one gentleman that was still waiting was the guy who ordered right before us.

Also, don't expect to get any type of customer service at this establishment. Quite frankly, I don't know that customer service even exists at this place. The cashier's comments, as I noted above, was something you would expect in a 3rd world country. People usually dine in spots where they feel welcomed and can see a smile on employees faces who have a sense of urgency to tend to their customers needs. And when I heard the way the "OWNER" of this business talk, I was not happy one bit that we even thought of going to this place for dinner. Very poor restaurant management skills and not well at resolving customer concerns/issues. This place can burn down for all I care. Beware if you go here I know that you will not be satisfied with the service or the product. And that's even if you get to eat.

I would highly recommend going to Amici's, House of Pizza, or High 5s to get a sense of what customer service really feels like and also the chance to taste PIZZA. What a concept!!!!!!!!!-COLLAPSE
