The Digest: Chowhound's Daily Roundup

GENERAL TOPICS: This Week in Frozen Crack

The “Loaded” ice cream sold under the Edy’s brand name (Dreyer’s in the West) is soft, creamy, and delicious. It’s not soft like soft serve, says Laura D., just softer in consistency than regular ice cream right out of the freezer. And it’s full of snacky things like peanut butter cups and cookies, hence the “Loaded” appellation (it’s not a secret Velvet Underground tie-in). LAWoman likens the Butterfinger flavor to frozen crack. And check the nutrition information: It’s on a par with the company’s Slow Churned light ice cream.
