Fronteras Mexican Grill is a nice-looking place, with lots of blown-glass lighting, comfortable and colorful booths, and a cool-looking bar, says Clare K. But don’t get her wrong—this is also the kind of place that serves you menudo as a side dish.
It’s really good, and so are the basics: delicious salsa and freshly fried tortilla chips. Chicken mole is just how it should be—rich, dark, complex, and not too sweet. Chicken enchilada is good eating.
And despite the nice surroundings and deliciously authentic food, it’s not expensive: Lunch for two comes out around $26 before tip.

All I have to say is "WOW"!!! Talk about authentic, Fronteras Mexican Grill and Cantina located in Alhambra is by far the best mexican restaurant I've ever been too. All I have to say is "WOW"!!! Talk about authentic, Fronteras Mexican Grill and Cantina located in Alhambra is by far the best mexican restaurant I've ever been too. The food was fantastic (I had the Jalisco style barbacoa & Chicken Mole), it tasted like it came straight from my moms kitchen in Mexico, cooked to perfection with all the freshest ingredients, I had to meet the chef and was surprise to find her entire family running the kitchen (now thats authentic). And the margaritas were unlike any i've ever tried... it didn't surprise me when they wouldn't give me the recipe. The best part had to be the price, although the setting is a very romantic classy looking with an open air patio, the prices were unbeatable that even I was shocked. If you love mexican food, but your tired of stale rice, overpriced fajitas and flat margaritas... you gotta try this place and judge for yourself. I'm glad to say my mom finally has some competition on her hands (sorry mom).-COLLAPSE
Just to be clear, this is not associated with Rick Bayless and the fantastic Frontera in Chicago.
