Many, many Chowhounds are wild about grapefruit from Pittman and Davis. They may be slow and quirky with their shipping, but their ruby red grapefruits are incredible, as are their oranges. You just tell them what month you want your grapefruit in, and that’s about all the control you have.

CeeBee Citrus has good Duncan grapefruits–they’re a little seed heavy, but they’re tasty.
Blood’s Grove has great oranges; rumor has it that they have great grapefruits, too.

So far, this year we have been eating them whole, or sectioned sprinkled with Campari. I have been making a salad with Fresh Greens, Sectioned Ruby Reds, and Pan Seared Scallops with a light Vinaigrette made with the juice.
