Big W’s Bar-B-Que Finds a Place to Park

Big W’s, which once dished up first-class barbecue from a truck, is now paying less for gas but more for rent. In a former deli around five miles up Route 22 from its old parking spot, it’s serving the same deeply smoky ribs, chicken, and pulled pork, among other things. Standout sides include slow-roasted potatoes and sweet, tangy, porky beans. “I drove 35 miles for the ribs–and I will do it again,” testifies steelydad.

  • Fantastic! Stopped by this weekend and picked up a rack of ribs. This stuff is meat candy. Super tender and super smoky. Relatively cheap too - $25 for a rack with 3 excellent sides (which was plenty to split among 4 people - splitting among two as recommended would probably result in meat overload). For those in NYC, it is probably a 5 minute walk south on 22 from the Harlem Valley - Wingdale...+READ

We actually weren't looking for it - we were driving with the top down, got hit with the smoke coming from the smokehouse, and did a U turn. We'll be stopping by every time we head out to NW CT.-COLLAPSE
