Chefs, put down your knives: We have a winner. We asked for your Top Chef recipe, home-style: using fewer than 10 ingredients and taking less than 45 minutes total time. We put on our Tom Colicchio bald hats and our Padma Lakshmi high boots. We tested, tasted, and decided. The Editors' Choice winner isn't fancy or fussy; it's a good use of a few ingredients and a simple preparation. And it will be featured in a booklet as part of the Season 5 Top Chef DVD (on DVD for the first time!).

Pork Chops with Apple Jus

We like this classic combination of flavors, and though the sauce was a little sweet, it worked well with the pork.

Nice browned, charbroiled flavor and pretty good sweet sauce.
Apple jus? More like sugar jus! But clings to the pork nicely.
Needs a bit of salt, but hard to go wrong with pork-and-apple combo.
