Great Beer Recipe Challenge Winners Revealed!
The competition was fierce in our search for the best recipe using Blue Moon® beer, with over 120 recipes battling for the $2,000 grand prize or a shot at one of the three $1,000 runner-up spots! The CHOW test kitchen tested and tasted the top three vote-getting recipes to select the grand prize winner, then editorially selected, tested, and tasted a whole bunch more of your beer-soaked recipes to crown the runners-up. Congratulations to our four winners, and thanks to everyone who submitted a recipe! Now, check out who won the cash!
Bacon and Beer Glazed Pecans
These intensely flavored bacon-and-caramel-coated nuts are as easy to make as they are addictive. They'd make a great party snack or gift for the holidays.
Blue Moon Mussels
We could really taste the beer in the just-spicy-enough broth the mussels were cooked in, and the bacon-fat-toasted baguette slices were a nice touch.
Blue Moon Belgian Brunch Waffles
The yeasty, spicy flavor from the beer tasted good with the orange zest in these waffles. They're easy to make, and work as a base for any topping, from plain maple syrup to fried chicken.
Meatballs Flanders Style
This meatball recipe takes some work to make, but it's worth the effort. The hearty meatballs are surprisingly light in texture, and are simmered in a beefy, creamy sauce. They are delicious with bread, potatoes, or noodles for a comforting meal.
