At a recent party, somebody showed up with a growler of pale ale from the 21st Amendment Brewery in San Francisco. It got a big response—as if the guy’d brought some of his own home brew or something. I like the ecofriendly packaging (no wasted cans or bottles!), and there’s something old-timey about bringing a jug of your local beer to a party. More places should offer this option. Short of that, purchase your own growler from KegWorks and see if your local brewery will fill it up.
